Collegium for Medieval & Early Modern Studies

Collegium for Medieval & Early Modern Studies

The medieval and the early modern periods are among the main areas of research and teaching in the humanities at the University of Würzburg. The different disciplines dealing with the time from 500 B.C. to 1500 B.C. come together in this collegium in order to pool our expertise and intensify research and academic exchange among the disciplines.

Activities of the collegium include:

  • Research in medieval and early modern studies (academic publications, conferences, joint projects)
  • An interdisciplinary Master's degree programme in Medieval and Early Modern Studies
  • A PhD programme geared at medieval and early modern studies (graduate school)
  • Third-mission, community-oriented activities (lecture series, lectures)
