Application
The Master's degree programme in Medieval and Early Modern Studies does not have a numerus clausus. The formal requirements for admission are set out in the Subject-Specific Regulations §4 and the amendments of 2024 and are summarised here on this homepage (see "Requirements"). We will be happy to advise you personally in advance.
The Master's programme can be started in the summer and winter semesters. The application period for a winter semester runs from the end of May to 15 July each year, for a summer semester from the end of November to 15 January each year.
Applications are possible from the start of the application period and are made online via WueStudy for all students (including international students).
You can view the status of your application at any time via WueStudy. You will be notified of any changes (data changes, status changes such as admission, etc...) by e-mail and can view these in WueStudy. Admission or rejection notifications are also made available there.
Before the application deadline (i.e. before 15 January or 15 July), you can still edit your application in WueStudy and, if necessary, upload documents.
After the application deadline (i.e. after 15 January or 15 July), the examination board will review the applications and check whether the admission requirements have been met.
If you have been admitted, you can enroll on the Master's degree programme for the coming semester.
As soon as you are enrolled on the Master's degree programme and have been (automatically) assigned an access code and e-mail address, we recommend that you visit the consultation hours to obtain information and advice on the modalities of course enrolment.
